Inazō Nitobe (1862-1933) was a Japanese professor of colonialism, who studied agricultural policy in the United States and agricultural economics in Germany. He was a strong advocate for Japan's colonization of Korea. Bushido was written in English and was one of the first books that introduced Japanese culture to the Western world. It is considered key to understanding the Japanese culture.
